I will teach you how to paint this painting from start to finish. Each technique will be covered in depth as well as every color mixture you will need to achieve this expressive painting.
In this painting lesson I begin by taking you through creating a loose sky. When I painted this painting, I wanted to create something based on my current emotions or feelings without having too much of a gameplan. I just knew I wanted to use certain colors to be expressive with. Once I created the mood in the sky I moved into the foreground and create the old barn and tree. I wanted the barn to reflect the emotion in the sky so I focused on using similar colors and trying to give it feeling with how it leaned and was falling apart.
I also did the same with the tree.
