Come learn how to paint the iconic mountain: Mt. Katahdin of Maine in oil. Mt. Katahdin is the famous endpoint of the Appalachian trail. It has a unique shape and presence in the center of Maine, and is the largest mountain in the state.

I’ll take you through each step in painting this oil painting. We start off with a sketch using the grid method. I provide an image already set up for you to follow, as well as additional reference photos to make it easier. This lesson is also great to do in acrylic as well. There aren’t any wet on wet techniques so it can be followed with both mediums.
