Channel your inner Georgia O’Keefe in this online painting lesson. I will take you through all the steps to create – Iris and Butterfly – an acrylic painting.
In this painting lesson I’ll show you how to layer a few midtones to shape out the flower. Then how to add washes of dark and vibrant blues to create shadow, and how to add transparent lights to create lighter values.
I first show you how to set up unique grid to get our proportions right. Then from there I demonstrate how to do the drawing with pencil, reinforce it with paint and then layer away.
At the end we add a nice complimentary butterfly to make the colors pop!
Come have a lot of fun with me in this 3.5 hour lesson.
