When It All Goes Red is my latest online painting lesson. Learn how to use a limited palette to make a colorful, dramatic landscape. Take simple elements and composition and make them shine with the use of layers and light. This lesson will help free you up and not be as controlled within a painting. Sometimes creating a painting with less in it but a strong composition is just what you need to get beyond a plateau.

I’ll show you how to layer your clouds with slight variations of color to create atmosphere. I’ll show you how to create layers within an open sky to create light, and how to tie it all together with some hills and minimalist trees.
