Every June the Lupines blossom here in Northern Maine. Just down the dusty dirt road that I live on is a large open field filled with Lupines. There are pink, purple, and white heavily peppering the grassy fields. Surrounding the fields are tree lines, gating the way into the forest.
In this painting lesson I used reference photos that I took of the lupine fields down from my house. I include the reference with the lesson. In acrylics we’ll capture the serene simple beauty of a tree line, that lies above a field of lupines. A little light shimmers through the trees onto the ground.
I’ll take you through each step in this painting. From creating the clouds and sky, down the the final details of the lupines. This lesson is only a few hours long, and even though it is challenging, the techniques aren’t too difficult to follow and capture.
