One dreary afternoon I was driving down a road I’ve been on hundreds of times and like usual I was looking at all the scenery I was passing by. I came across this barn and shed that I’ve seen over and over and noticed that the roof was caving in more than in the past so I stopped the car and hopped out to take a pic. I wanted to make sure I captured it before it caved completely. Like so many barns and old buildings here in Maine, eventually the earth slowly devours them and they are gone forever.
This is just such an interesting scene. The dead tree on the left, the almost dead tree in the middle, and the slowly caving barn. So much symbolism in one simple setting.
Come learn how to paint this painting with me. I’ll take you through the entire acrylic painting from start to finish. We will create the dreary sky, and move through the painting using a tonal limited palette with splashes of color. I’ll show you how I sketch the barn with a liner brush, how to paint in all the details and more.
I can’t wait to paint this with you.
