This painting is of a Clark’s Nutcracker. It is a bird I encountered many times on my adventures in the Canadian Rockies. They were especially populated near Lake Louise in Banff National Park. They reminded me a lot of crows. Not scared of people, but smart enough to keep their distance. They talked to each other a lot, probably letting each other know which humans had food. This one I captured sitting on a monumental rock watching the crowd for someone to drop a crumb.
