In this lesson I will show you how to paint a Great Blue Heron. We begin with a simple sketch and toning the canvas. From there I will take you through each brush stroke as we create this majestic bird. I will show you how to layer the acrylic paint to create light, depth and texture. This lesson is great because it will show you how to create a painting with a black backdrop and realistic subject matter.

Colors used: Burnt Umber, Raw Umber, Ultramarine Blue, Naples Yellow, Zinc White, Titanium White, Brilliant Blue
