The Light Casts Blue is my latest painting lesson in oil. I will teach you how to create this painting from start to finish. This lesson also includes my new features! Read more below on those.

This painting is an analogous color scheme, using a limited palette of 4 or 5 colors and then supplementing those colors with earth tones and whites here and there. Learn more about that by watching this video:

This lesson is about 2.5 hours long and I will show you from many different angles how to complete every element to this painting. This is learning made easy! You won’t have to guess on how to do anything.

New Features:
Multiple reference photos – I’ve included multiple reference photos of the final painting. Up close images allow you to see the texture and brush strokes.

Color mixing charts – sometimes its hard to see exactly what color is mixed in a video due to screen calibration. I’ve added color mixing charts for each element of the painting (background, grass, tree, foliage)

Color mixing descriptions – I’ve included a written description of the color mixtures, in order that they are used in the lesson.

Overview video – I include an overview video that you can watch before you start to see the process in still images, so you know exactly how the painting is approached to make the video watching easier.
